My 10 Pledges for Glenfaba and Peel

Addressing the Housing Crisis

I will aim to boost the delivery of social and affordable housing.  Insist that developers include affordable homes in all new projects.  I will champion innovative first-time buyer initiatives, including a dedicated Bond Scheme to assist locals trying to get on the property ladder.  My priority is securing homes for local residents and working families.

01

02

Enhancing Healthcare Access

We need to demand a comprehensive review of Manx Care and its management structures.  I am committed to reducing waiting times for vital treatments.  I will fight for better access to GP and NHS dental services.  I will advocate for improved mental health support and early intervention programs.

03

Achieving Better Value for Taxpayers

I will rigorously scrutinise government spending to eliminate waste. Resources must be redirected from bureaucracy to frontline services.  I aim to hold every department accountable for delivering measurable value.  I will challenge capital spending until essential public services function effectively.

04

Sustaining Businesses and Growth

I will seek viable inward and local investment options that generates high-quality, sustainable employment.  I will look to reform work permit policies to align with our Island's economic requirements, but always prioritising Manx workers.  I aim to remove hurdles for small businesses that alows them to thrive. We need to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across the Isle of Man.

05

Modernising Roads and Infrastructure

I will prioritise the urgent repair of roads in Glenfaba & Peel.  I will advocate for bus services that serve the actual needs of our community.  I will seek to improve the reliability of our Airport.  I will support affordable and accessible sea travel for residents and visitors.

06

Pragmatic Environmental Policy

I support sensible environmental actions that provide tangible local benefits.  I will work to enhance our recycling and reuse facilities.  I will ensure energy projects are transparent and benefit our residents directly. We need to  explore new technologies and tailored solutions that suit the Isle of Man, not ones that have proved costly and ineffective in other areas

07

Advancing Education and Skills

I will look to ensure our schools have the necessary resources to excel.  I will advocate for better Special Educational Needs (SEN) provisions and services.  I will push to expand local apprenticeships and vocational training.  We need investment in the specific skills required to solve our local workforce shortages.

08

Caring for Families and the Vulnerable

I will seek to improve essential respite services for carers.  I will support families who care for children with additional needs.  I will campaign for fairer funding regarding long-term care.  I will work to promote and strengthen our local community support networks.

09

Improving Community Safety

I will advocate for a return to visible, proactive community policing.  I will seek better CCTV coverage in areas prone to anti-social behaviour. I will push for tougher measures against crime, vandalism, and fraud.  I will work to ensure every resident feels safe and secure in their home.

10

Securing Farming, Fishing, and Food

I will provide unwavering support for our local farmers and fishermen.  I will promote the prioritisation of Manx produce in all public services.  I will work to improve access to export markets.  I will encourage youth participation in agriculture through new training apprenticeships.
