COLLEEN DALE-BEETON

Independent Candidate for Glenfaba & Peel

Putting Glenfaba & Peel First

A Message from Colleen

My name is Colleen Dale-Beeton and I am proud to be standing as an Independent candidate for Glenfaba & Peel.

I was born and raised in Peel and spent part of my teenage years living in Patrick. My family has deep roots in the west of the Island. My father and grandfather served the people of Peel as local butchers for more than 80 years, while previous generations were merchants in the town. My grandmother was born on a farm in Dalby, where the Corrin family farmed for many years.

Apart from my time away at university, I have spent my entire life in Peel. I have seen many changes over the years, but what has never changed is the strength of our communities. From local charities and clubs to agricultural shows, community events and wonderful community initiatives, the west continues to demonstrate the community spirit that makes this part of the Island such a special place to live.

I have been married to my husband Simon for 32 years and together we have raised three children who have chosen to establish their lives here. Our daughters work in community nursing and nursery provision and our son works for a local company in facilities management. Their journeys, alongside those of many young Manx residents, drive my commitment to ensuring our Island remains a place where the next generation can afford to live, work, and grow.

My career spans accountancy, payroll, operations and financial services. With a degree in Business Administration, my experience covers both public and private sectors—including the Peel Town Commissioners and the life assurance industry.  I have ran my own businesses in the past and now work in the construction industry, I witness every day the real-world pressures facing employers, employees and their families across the Isle of Man.

I am standing because I believe Glenfaba & Peel deserves practical representation, careful management of public finances and a strong independent voice focused on results.

MANX SOLUTIONS FOR MANX PROBLEMS• HAVE YOUR SAY• STRAIGHT LINE THINKING• VOTE COLLEEN DALE-BEETON •

I have put myself forward as a candidate for the general election as I like many voters are sick of bad governance, terrible financial decisions, and a complete lack of transparency and accountability.  I think all candidates who are successful need to have the courage of their convictions to make some bold and maybe unpopular decisions for the coming term.

There are lots of issues that continue to upset most residents and yet another five years have passed, and nothing has changed in fact things seem to have got worse.  This is the worst I have ever known in my lifetime.  Failing hospital and general healthcare and dental provision.  Most streets and roads in states of disrepair.  Major decisions affecting island residents being pushed through without any recall to the people they affect most.  Capital projects with freewheeling costs and no accountability or in some cases not even the true costs being disclosed.  A net zero agenda that seems to be being pursued at any cost, whilst basic island infrastructure and services are falling apart.  We have more people using food banks and families living in poverty on the island than we have ever had.

The lack of honest and effective communication between the people and Government has led to a complete breakdown of trust and confidence in how the Government is not acting as it should, on behalf of the people.  I want to try and redress this and make living here what it should be a joy and a privilege.  The island is so unique, it’s the differences that make the Island what it is and why it’s so special, from the crazy unpredictability of the weather to its characters and hidden gems and the beautiful beaches and scenery.  I don’t want the Isle of Man to be a little England, it is the very things that make us what we are that we should be saving and treasuring.  I’m so sick of seeing UK solutions to Manx issues, I want to see Manx solutions to Manx problems not imported ideas that don’t fit our way of life or thinking.

If elected, I can’t promise to fix everything , but I can promise to question and challenge and highlight when I think things are not being done effectively and in the best interests of  constituents and Islanders. I want to see clarity, financial accountability and above all trust restored.   I hope you can put your trust and faith in me and know that will never just sit in a corner and take the easy path and that I will always put my constituency first and foremost.

My dedication to the residents of Glenfaba & Peel is rooted in a deep-seated belief that our community deserves a representative who understands our unique challenges first-hand. By focusing on practical solutions and transparent fiscal management, I aim to represent your interests with the integrity and independence needed to drive real results for our future generations.
